How to use Image Redact Tool
Redaction covers selected image regions using a solid block, pixelation, or blur. A solid block is generally the easiest style to verify for truly sensitive content.
- Choose the image and select a redaction style.
- Drag across every area that must be hidden and use Undo to correct a selection.
- Download the result and open it separately to confirm the information is unreadable.
Practical example
A screenshot can be redacted to hide an account number before it is shared with support.
Useful tips
- Prefer solid redaction for highly sensitive text.
- Cover surrounding pixels, not only the exact characters.
- Verify the downloaded file at high zoom.
Limitations
A mild blur may leave shapes or text recognizable. This tool edits visible pixels and is not a certified document-sanitization system.
